any idea why this is not necessary at my installation
and obviously not on yours? Is this tested on newer
Zope/Python versions too?

Is there a way to integrate all these patches and
modifications flying around into the development process?
Perhaps setting up a subversion repository where
these can be added continously? This might
even speed up the development itself? ;-)
