If you mean how do you disable comments for the whole blog go to "Blog
Settings -> Entry Editing". On this page you will see that you have 3
options for comments and trackbacks. "None, Open or Closed" . I found
when I disabled trackbacks that it didn't disable them for currently
existing blog entries so if you want to disable them for all your
existing entries and not just future entries you will need to go to
each entry and click on "Edit" then next at the bottom of the page to
get to the extended fields. You can then disable comments for that
entry. Beware that you will need to make sure that you  have an
effective date set in the properties for that entry otherwise your
entries date will be changed.

I'm working on Plone 3.0 integration of COREBlog2.

Plone 3.0 will have a lot of Ajax thing. I think it is very exciting.
My goal is to make COREBlog2 ready for Ajax, with backword compatible 
to Plone 2.1, 2.5.

Some patr already have commited in svn repositry. Please try nightly

I also tried the following:

I added a new coreblog to my site, and tried to add some entries to
that, which didn't succeed. But I have more than one plone-site running
within this zope-instance, and within another site creating a coreblog
and adding entries is no problem.

The only difference in those sites is, that the latter site is much
older (I created that site with plone 1.x), while I created the current
site with plone 2.1.2.

No, I just wasn't sure. And actually: I only have write-access to my
instance, not the general pyhton directories :)

Well ... this did the job! Great!

But, of course I'm curious why is this necessary? I mean, as I wrote in
my last post, I have a much older site, wich works perfectly fine, and
on Windows XP there was also no problem adding new entries to my blog.

Oh, wait ...

As I mentioned, I created a new coreblog within my site. So now I can
add new entries to the new blog, but I still cannot add new entries to
the already existing blog.

Well, I suppose I will copy all entries from my existing blog to the
newly created blog and then continue to use that blog from now on. What
I did notice though is, that I modified the effective-date in the ZMI,
so that I could date some entries back :) ... but after copying those
entries to a new coreblog the effective dates are gone :(

I can't describe what's happnig exactry.
With Python 2.3 and Page Template,  something going wring when it 
handle unicode string, I think.

So is there any other solution, than to create a copy of my existing
blog? And how can I handle the effective dates?

Hello all,

I have a COREBlog2 folder installed at the root of a Plone site. Ownership
of that object was transferred to, say, USER-A. If USER-A is given the
manager role, then he can add an entry. Otherwise, he can create the new
entry but he can't save it without being asked to login as a Manager. Once
the entry is created though, USER-A can modify it and save it.

USER-A however has no problem whatsoever to create new categories or images.

There are two other anomalies, no doubt related:

- The document menu for a Manager has the properties tab, while USER-A does
not see the properties tab.
- When USER-A tries the blog settings options a login is required by zope.

I am using Debian Etch, COREBlog2 0.8.1b-2 and zope-2.9.

I downloaded version 0.982b and I get the same behaviour.

I tried adding a new ticket over at coreblog.org. I logged in as per
instructions on the Trac page but when I tried to add the ticket I
received:

Permission Denied
TICKET_CREATE privileges are required to perform this operation.

Hi,

after I figured that my blog somehow got "corrupted" I want to create a
new blog, and move all my existing stuff to the new blog.

But how?

So I tried the following: I create a new blog, copy all existing items
of my old blog and paste them into the newly created blog. Bummer: this
links to the comments and images are gone :( even though I copied them
as well. (All done in the ZMI)

I already figured, that I cannot copy the categories of a blog (gives me
an error, if I want to paste categories into the blog).

So how could I preserve my content?

System:
Plone 2.5.2,
CMF-1.6.2,
Zope (Zope 2.9.6-final, python 2.4.4, linux2),
Five 1.3.8,
Python 2.4.4 (#2, Apr 5 2007, 20:11:18) [GCC 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease)

How is your reference_catalog of old/new plone instance?
Maybe there is a hint of this problem in it.

I did not create a new plone instance, I just create a new
coreblog-folder (aka a new blog) within my existing plone-site.
