Lehenik eta behin, funtzio informatiboak funtzio gramatikaletatik bereiztea da kontua: gramatikaren <em>fabrika</em>k ematen dizkion <em>adreilu</em> gordinekin <em>etxea</em>
(esaldia) egoki antolatzea, semantikaren eta pragmatikaren eskakizunen
arabera. Adierazi nahian dabilen hori irakurleari argi ematea da
testugilearen eginkizuna. Horretarako, hainbat alderdi zaindu behar
ditu, eta, bereziki, kohesioari hots, diskurtsoko osagaien arteko
loturari dagozkionak: hitzordena, galdegai/mintzagai katea, anaforak,
