Bai, bainan tituluaren esanahia da errukirik ez dagoela (zaldi bat
zaurituta edo gaixorik dagoenenan bai, bainan gure gizartean ez) eta hori
ere azaldu behar da tituluan, ez?

The lines are from Horace McCoy's classic Depression novel, its title taken
from the girl's anguished plea, after she and the boy had lost their last
chance at fame - winning a dance marathon and thereby getting a part in the
movies. McCoy had taken the story from a real case, but he gave it a
nightmare dimension all its own - two weeks of continuous dancing, in which
participants were allowed 10-minute breaks then woken with smelling salts to
keep going.

It was meant as a cheap thriller but itsportrayal of relentless, compelled
"freedom"- keep dancing, keep dancing! - was seen as a metaphor for life
under industrial capitalism.

One of his best novels, They Shoot Horses, Don't They? was widely regarded
as a minor masterpiece upon its original release in 1935. But over the
ensuing years it gradually disappeared from bookstore shelves. Maybe it was
too bitter. Maybe it was too unrelenting in its depiction of a
depression-era dance marathon.

Kontua da, nik behar dudan esamoldeak dantzarekiko lotura ezin duela galdu,
hau da, artikulu baten izenburua da "Danzad, danzad malditos"
hori eta artikuluan dantza jaialdi bati buruz hitzegiten da, beraz
dantzarekin zerikusia duen esamolde batekin moldatuko nintzateke.

Merci.
